OXFORD – The Oxford Wal-Mart store recently matched funds raised during the July 4th yard sale organized by Youth Outreach Ministries, Inc. of Oxford. The Route 26 yard sale is held annually to assist the nonprofit ministries’ building project at His Place Teen Center.

The money raised in 2004 will be used to put in a suspended ceiling in the teen center’s multi-purpose room as part of the second phase of construction. That room will be used as a place for youth to gather in quieter surroundings than the nearby game room, where Christian music, pool, foosball, air hockey and other games take place.

His Place Teen Center, which offers adult supervision, is open from 6 to 9 p.m. every Friday. Teen Church, offering a praise and worship message, is held each Friday from 9:15 to 11:15 p.m. Teens are welcome to visit and light snacks are provided.

A special Teen Church service will be held Saturday, Jan. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. The program is designed for youths 11 years and older, and will be held the first Saturday evening of every month.
