CONWAY, Ark. – The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team survived their closest game of the season, taking a 68-62 victory at Hendrix College on Wednesday evening. The Polar Bears, ranked first in the nation, improve to 8-0 this season and have won 33 straight regular season games and will return to action tomorrow when they face Rust College in the second day of the Hendrix Classic.

Eileen Flaherty paced the Polar Bears with 16 points, including 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. Vanessa Russell had 13 points, including a trio of three-pointers, while Erika Nickerson added 12 points off the bench.

Both teams posted identical scores in the two halfs, with Bowdoin outscoring the Warriors 34-31 in both frames.
