ANDOVER – Nomination papers are now available at the Andover town office for the positions of one selectman and one member to the SAD 44 Board of Directors.

Town Clerk Elaine Morton said the seat currently held by Selectman David Percival will be filled at the March elections.

He was elected in November for the five months remaining on Joan Carney’s term.

Also, the SAD 44 seat held by Percival’s brother, John, is up this year. Both positions are for three years.

Those interested in running must gather the signatures of at least 25 Andover registered voters to get their names on the ballot.

Nomination papers must be returned to the town office by noon Feb. 1.

Other selectmen are Gertrude Akers and Gerry Savitz.

Andover’s two other representatives on the SAD 44 board are Keith Farrington and Sidney Pew.

Morton said anyone with ideas for items to be placed on the town meeting warrant should get them to selectmen or the town office by the end of January.

This year’s town meeting is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, March 19.

Morton isn’t sure whether it will be held at the Town Hall.
