BRUNSWICK – Doris B. Daigle, 72, of Pineswood Road, Lisbon, died peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 1, at Midcoast Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was the wife of the late James Daigle.
She was born in Montpelier Vt. Dec. 4, 1933, the daughter of Burton and Bernice (Murray) Chamberlin. She was educated in the Glidden schools in Vermont.
She worked at the Mayo Clinic in Northfield, Vt., and later at De Massie in Northfield, then for many years at the Wayside Resturant in Montpelier as a head cook.
When she found her one true love, she moved to Maine and had a happy life.
She enjoyed the Riverside Fleamarket with her husband.
She was an active member of the Legion in Lisbon Falls, and the Moose Lodge in Vermont.
She worked for many years at the Captains Lady and then at Karens Resturant, both in Lisbon Falls.
Before her illness, she worked at T.J. Maxx in Cooks Corner, which she enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her mother, Bernice Murray, of Barre, Vt.; a sister, Alberta Mundll of Potsdam, N.Y.; a brother, Bobby Chamberlin, of Brattlboro, Vt.; four sons, Donald LaHue and wife, Robin, of Northfield, Vt., James Daigle of Durham, Dana Haggett and wife, Lisa, of Northfield, Steven Haggett and wife, Donna Fay, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Ellen Haggett of Lisbon, Petina Daigle of Orangeburg, S.C., Barbara Manocal of Lisbon, Brenda and her husband, Kirk Haines, of Bowdoin; 23 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Burton Chamberlin; husband, James Daigle; her brother, Albert Chamberlin; and a daughter, Donna Haggett.
