AUBURN – Dorothy A. Turcotte, 85, of 85 Caron Lane, Auburn, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at the Odd Fellows Nursing Home, where she had received wonderful loving care from the entire nursing staff that is greatly appreciated by her family.

She was born in Grand Isle, on Dec. 11, 1919, the daughter of Pierre and Eugenie (Levesque) Morin.

She attended Lewiston schools and had worked in various local mills.

She later attended beauty school and opened Dorothy’s Beauty Salon in New Auburn until her retirement in 1984.

She was the widow of Archie W. Turcotte whom she married on May 25, 1940. He died on Nov. 2, 1976.

Dorothy enjoyed camping at the lake, golf, knitting and sewing.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church for most of her life and more recently a member of St. Louis Church. She was also a member of the Auburn Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her son, Dan Turcotte and his wife, Lori, of Bowdoin; her two daughters, Nancy Manley and her husband, Ted, of Greene, and Denise Hess and her companion, Craig Staton of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Marcel Turcotte, who died on Oct. 31, 1995, and by 16 brothers and sisters.
