PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Edwina Marie Mayo died Saturday morning, Jan. 2, at Woodside Hospice of Pinellas Park, Fla.

She was born in 1919 in Van Buren, a daughter to Napolean and Josephine Grevois. She moved to Florida in 1975 from Lewiston. She was Roman Catholic.

During her lifetime, she co-owned and operated a small country store with her husband, worked in the woolen mill and as a nurse’s aide in local nursing homes.

In addition to being an avid reader, she enjoyed sewing, ceramics, music and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Mayo, St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughters, Geraldine Vaillancourt of Maine, Dianna Mayo of Indiana, Nancy Fabel of North Carolina, Mary Ellen Wooley and Melissa J. Crone, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one son, Tim Mayo of California; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers; Anita Royer, Jacqueline Bussiere, Pauline Aubut, Theresa La France, Leopold and Napolean Grevois, all of Maine.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Mayo-Rousseau.
