LEWISTON – Norman E. Frank, 60, of Carthage, died Jan. 2 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with his family by his side.

He was born Aug. 25, 1944, in Rumford, a son of Merrill and Harriett (Carlton) Frank. He attended Dixfield schools, graduating from Dirigo High School in 1962.

On Feb. 27, 1965, he married Judy Abbott at the Dixfield Common Church. They made their home in Dixfield until moving to Carthage in 2000.

He worked the majority of his life as a truck driver and in the woods logging. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, canning the vegetables from his garden or sitting on the porch watching the birds at the feeder. His true love in life however, was time spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed any and all times they would visit and he loved to be in the yard playing with them or showing them around the garden.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Judy; a son, Matthew Frank and his wife, Jennifer, of Dixfield, and their children, Chelsey, Dominick and Carolyn; a daughter, Theresa Bowie and her husband, Brad, of Dixfield, and their son, Curtis; a sister, Wilmer Wheeler of Kittery; and longtime friend, Alvin Chase, of Mexico.

He was predeceased by his parents.
