OXFORD – The Skateboard Park Planning Committee will Wednesday to continue discussing how to raise funds and solicit materials for a park.
The group has been meeting regularly with the goal of starting work on the park in 2005.
Rough plans are in place for a 7,600-square-foot park that is expected to cost $177,000. Members hope to whittle those costs to about $70,000 by soliciting in-kind donations of materials, such as cement and rebar, as well as hotel stays for workers.
Committee member John Parsons said Wednesday’s meeting should be brief. The park materials list and a new fund-raising campaign scheduled for March will be on the agenda.
The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. in the board room at the Oxford Hills School District office, Oxford Plaza, Route 26.
