OXFORD – Selectmen accepted $4,000 in grant funds and a $1,500 donation during their meeting Thursday night.
A $1,500 donation from Robinson Manufacturing will be divided equally among the ambulance, fire and police departments’ equipment reserve accounts.
The board accepted a $2,500 implementation grant reimbursement from the Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District. It was for a completed erosion control project on Allen Hill Road.
The cost for the project was nearly $6,350. The grant reimbursement was to be for 50 percent of the cost, up to $2,500. The funds are for repairs that were completed in 2003.
A $1,500 grant awarded by Oxford Plains Speedway Charitable Foundation was approved for the reserve fire equipment account. Fire Chief Fred Knightly requested depositing the funds in the reserve account.
In other business, the board scheduled a workshop for at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan., 19, in the town office, to review personnel policies.
The board also noted it is looking for several volunteers to serve on committees for the town. There are open positions on the Budget Committee, Recreation Board and Cemetery Committee, Town Manager Michael Chammings noted. Anyone interested should contact the town office.
