BOSTON – Diane Warner, 57, of the Niles Road in Sabattus, died Friday afternoon, Jan. 7, at Brigham and Womens Hospital with her family at her side.
She was born in Gouverneur, N.Y., April 20, 1947, a daughter of Mabel (Bishop) Fox and step-daughter of Romain Fox of Hammond, N.Y.
She attended grade school in Ogdensburg, N.Y., Hammond Central School in Hammond, N.Y. and also attended Jefferson Community College in Watertown, N.Y.
She met her husband of 35 years, Paul Warner in Watertown and later moved to his hometown of Lewiston. They have resided in this area for the past 28 years.
She obtained her real estate license and worked for Great Falls Realty.
She and her husband also renovated and ran a little convenience store near the Auburn Airport for a while. When her mother needed medical assistance, she obtained her C.N.A. certificate so she could care for her. She enjoyed caring for geriatric patients.
Her most recent place of employment was at Maine Public Broadcasting when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. For several years, she did volunteer work at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center as well as for the American Society.
She was a member of East Auburn Baptist Church and, in her free time, she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, gardening, bowling, and dancing.
Being raised on a farm in upstate New York, she also had a special love for animals and nature.
She leaves her husband, Paul F. Warner, of Sabattus; a daughter, Heidi Warner also of Sabattus; four sons, Brian Warner of Ohio, Kevin Warner and wife, Sue, of Skowhegan, Paul Warner Jr. of Minot, and Scot Warner and wife, Laurie, of Monmouth; 11 grandchildren, Gentry, Emily, Isaac, Brittany, Dillon, Scotty, Hayle, and Lacey Warner and Shannon, Sarah, and Sierra Perron; two sisters, Lee Dygert of Florida, and Alice Taylor of Gouverneur, N.Y.; and four brothers, Clint Dygert and wife, Verina, and Dr. Charles Dygert and wife, Donna, both of Ohio, and Joseph Beamish and Bud Beamish both of N.Y. She also will be missed by close family friends, Amy L’Italien, Cody and Drew.
She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Barbara Charlton, of Rockford, Ill.
