RUMFORD – Rowena G. Robinson, 84, of Dixfield, formerly of Peru, died late Friday afternoon, Jan. 7, at the Rumford Community Hospital.

She was born in Livermore, Nov. 5, 1920, a daughter of Milton and Katherine (Wing) Wing and received her education on Livermore schools.

On Nov. 5, 1938, she married Lucius Robinson in Livermore and they made their home in Peru for many years. Mr. Robinson died April 17, 1992.

Mrs. Robinson enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Peru Baptist Church and was known for knitting mittens for the church mitten tree. She was a charter member of the Peru Senior Citizens, a member of the Extension, the Mother’s Club, and a former Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by a son, Lucius M. Robinson and his wife, Joyce, of Barry, Texas; three daughters, Kathryn Taylor and her husband, Lawrence, of Peru, Eleanor Dunham and her husband, Robert, of Dixfield, and Judith Byron and her husband, John, of Dixfield; two sisters-in-law, Edna Swan of Canton, and Evelyn Wing of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Samuel, Preston and Rex; a sister, Viola DiStefano; and a grandson, John Byron Jr.
