TURNER – Nomination papers for municipal candidates will be available Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Town Office.

Papers must be returned with at least 25 but no more than 100 qualified voter signatures, said Town Clerk Eva Leavitt.

The following positions are open for election at the April town meeting: one selectman for a three-year term; one director on the SAD 52 Board of Directors for a three-year term; and three positions on the Budget Committee, each for three years.

Officials whose terms are expiring are Selectman Jennifer Wadsworth, SAD 52 Director Josh Morris and Budget Committee members Dawn Nash, John “Tiger” Durgin and Scott Honaker.

Anyone who circulates nomination papers must return them to the town clerk’s office no later than Tuesday, Feb. 22. Interested persons may call Leavitt during regular business hours Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 225-3414.

Town meeting will be held Friday, April 8, for balloting at the Town Office with polls open from 1 to 7 p.m. Town meeting will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Leavitt Area High School cafeteria.
