GRAY – Eben Andrew Dickinson, Sr., 85, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 9.

He was born in Kenduskeag, on March 4, 1919, a son of Charles Dickinson and Lodisa Goodridge Dickinson. He completed grammar school in Kenduskeag, and attended 2 years at English High School in Boston.

He served during World War II in Japan, and the Aleutian Islands. He served in the Army 18th Engineers Division. After the war, he attended Coyne Electrical and Technical School in Boston. He was later employed by Bangor Hydro Electric Co.

He lived in Pottstown, Pa. for a period of 25 years, where he was employed by Pottstown Plating Works.

In 1978, he moved to Gray where he has resided for the past 27 years. He will fondly be remembered by all as the gentleman who happily pushed his grocery cart all about Gray corner, running errands.

Surviving are three daughters, Trudy Dunton of Hampden, Diane Goode of N.D., and Merilyn Leman of Wash.; a son Eben Dickinson, Jr., of Ga., and four grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his special friends, the Edson family of Gray.

Eben was predeceased by his wife, Carrie Holmes Dickinson, and seven brothers and sisters.
