Maine humorist, Gary Crocker, performed on Friday, Oct. 29 at the Monmouth Academy. The show was sponsored by the Monmouth Middle School’s Civil Rights Team. Mr. Crocker, a Monmouth Academy graduate, poked fun at many area residents including one of his former teachers. Mr. Crocker told jokes, Maine stories, and even had an idea for selling tourist items. While he wore an obnoxious multi-purpose lobster cap, he stated “If you want to sell a stupid lobster hat, sell it on Route 1.” He also thought that all the roads in Maine should be changed to Route 1, to avoid confusing tourists.” Oh, yeah, just take a right and go down Route 1.” Mr. Crocker’s wife and daughter sold CD’s at the show, which are also available at Fuller’s Market. A great time was had by all who attended the show.
