RUMFORD – Guy W. “Bud” Hillman, Jr., 86, died Monday, Jan. 10, at the Rumford Community Home, in Rumford.

A lifelong resident of the area, he was born in Rumford, on Sept. 16, 1918, a son of Guy and Helen (Gaudin) Hillman, and he graduated from Stephens High School, in Rumford.

For many years, he owned and operated The Electric Shop on Congress Street, in Rumford.

Bud was a Communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church, and for many years he and his wife were active with the March of Dimes. For many years, he also ran the local Lewiston Daily Sun Journal office.

He was married in West Peru on Aug. 26, 1939, to the late Catherine “Kay” King who died in Rumford on Sept. 11, 1987.

Survivors include his son, Guy W. Hillman, III and his wife, Joanne, of Winthrop, Mass.; daughters, Janice E. Smith of Mooresville, Ind., and Audrey Hillman Williams and her husband, Irving, of Portland; a sister Wilma Belanger of Mexico; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
