LEWISTON – Henri E. Rene, 90, of 143 Mill St., Auburn, died Monday, Jan. 10, at Marshwood Nursing Home.
Born in Lewiston, on March 15, 1914, he was the son of Phillippe Rene and Elizabeth Baron. He attended local schools and was a graduate from the Robert’s Business Academy. He also attended the St. Hyacinth P.Q. College in Canada.
He worked at the Hill Mill for 15 years, and then went to Brunswick Auerback Shoe, until his retirement in 1972.
In 1934, he married Theresa Cote. She passed in April of 1982. In May of 1983, he married Jeannette Dugal-Cote Rene.
He is survived by his wife; one sister, Marguerite Lavoie of Sabattus; two step-daughters, Jean Crowell of Lewiston, and Sue Vachon of Mechanic Falls; one step-son, Paul Cote of Oxford; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Carmen, Juliette, Rev. Sean Claire Oassise, Dolores, Adelaide; and one brother, Herman.
