SKOWHEGAN – Norman F. Spooner, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, with his family by his side.
He was born Dec. 20, 1917, in St. Albans, the son of Elmer and Myrtie (McDonald) Spooner.
He was educated in St. Albans schools and worked as a weaver in local textile mills. He was married Oct. 15, 1940 to Ruby May Dunham of Avon. They made their home in Skowhegan.
He is survived by his children, Carolyn Lagasse and her husband, Armand “Duff,” of Madison, Ky., Spooner and his wife, Sharon (Adams), of Auburn, Charlotte Luce and her husband, Raymond, of Norridgewock, Texton and his wife, Orrinetta (Moody), of Old Orchard, and Tina Lombard and her husband, Bruce, of Skowhegan; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruby M. (Dunham) Spooner; a sister, Olive Blanchard; a brother, Clinton Spooner; and a great-grandson, Christian Paul Kochis.
