WINTHROP – Jason Allen and Tyler Smithgall netted 13 points apiece and combined to pull down 17 rebounds to lead Winthrop to a 53-50 victory over Jay.

Winthrop held a 35-22 advantage at halftime, but Jay made it a battle with a 23-10 run in the final frame.

Chip Burnham and Sam Leclerc chipped in for the Ramblers (4-3) with nine points apiece.

Ryan DiPompo led the Tigers (3-6) with 13 points, while Shane Bourgault tallied eight and Jake Farrington added seven.

Traip 45, St. Dom’s 44

AUBURN – Dustin Tisdale scored 10 points in a balanced attack as Traip squeezed by St. Dom’s 45-44 in WMC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Saints (3-3) used an 18-4 run in the third quarter to change a 27-16 halftime deficit into a short-lived 34-31 advantage. Junior point guard Justin Richardson had a spectacular outing, scoring 26 points, including five field goals from beyond the arc.

Boothbay 64, Liv. Falls 41

BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Freshman center Kris Noonan led the pack with 16 points as Boothbay closed the door on Livermore Falls with a 64-41 victory in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Sophomore forward Pat Norton recorded a double-double for the Seahawks (7-1) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Boothbay was also powered by Roy Arsenault with 13 points and Owen Johnson with 12 in the balanced attack.

Senior guards Levi Armandi and Brad Bryant led the offense for the Andies (1-7) with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Telstar 72, Madison 68

BETHEL – Senior forward Terry Collins recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lift Telstar to a 72-68 victory over Madison in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Junior guard Sean Caddigan matched Collins team-high of 18 points as the Rebels (5-3) launched a balanced attack which overturned a Madison 13-point advantage midway through the third quarter. Ryan Savage notched 15 points, while Josh Longway secured another 11 for Telstar.

Judah Norris posted the game-high 24 points, including three treys for the Bulldgos (4-5).

Gorham 60, Poland 57

POLAND — Ben Thayer scored 20 points as Gorham held off pesky Poland for a 60-57 triumph in a boys’ varsity basketball game Tuesday evening.

Gorham led by 11 points after the first half but were outscored 32-24 in the second half. Thayer hit 4 of 5 free throws later in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Max Bath and Matt Trask also played key roles in the victory for the Rams (9-1) by scoring 12 and 11 points.

Max Levine scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds for the Knights (5-5).

Geo. Valley 51, Lisbon 48

LISBON – Matt Judkins dropped in 18 points Tuesday as Georges Valley edged the Lisbon Greyhounds 51-48.

Georges Valley trailed by two points at the half, then went on a 16-10 run in the third to slowly pull away.

Max Johnson chipped in for the Buccaneers (3-5) with 15 points, while Thorb Johnson added seven. Mike Wilkins led the Greyhounds (4-4) with a game-high 20 points, while Levi Ervin contributed with 12.

Lake Region 53, Gray-New Gloucester 38

GRAY – Nick Moore led a trio of double-digit scorers with 19 points as Lake Region rolled past Gray-New Gloucester 53-38 in a WMC boys’ basketball matchup Tuesday.

Chris Shane chipped in for the Lakers (1-8) with 15 points, while Phil Staley added 11.

Chris Bennett led the Patriots (0-9) with 14 points. Gray stayed even with the Lakers in the first quarter, then fell behind on a 12-2 run by Lake Region in the second.

Mt. View 63, Oak Hill 37

THORNDIKE – Ben Ward drained a game-high 21 points to propel Mt. View to a 63-37 win over Oak Hill in a KVAC boys’ basketball matchup Tuesday evening.

Mt. View held a commanding 28-14 lead at the half and was never seriously challenged.

Kyle Harvey chipped in for the Mustangs (5-3) with 14 points.

Mike Eaton led the Raiders (1-7) with 13 points, while Brian Bisson and Lee Reynolds added seven apiece.

Richmond 66, Rangeley 58

RANGELEY – Glendon Kendrick scored 20 points Tuesday night to lead Richmond to a 66-58 triumph over Rangeley in an EWC boys’ basketball matchup.

Richmond went on a 25-15 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Billy Milne chipped in for the Bobcats with 13 points, while Dustin Clifford added 11.

Justin Gallant led the Lakers (1-5) with 18 points, while David Jensen contributed with 13.
