PARIS – Marc Gosselin has been named director of Central Maine Community College’s operations at the Western Maine University and Community College Center.
“We are particularly pleased to have found someone with both a thorough understanding of the community college and extensive experience in business and industry relations to head our operations in western Maine,” said college President Scott E. Knapp.
Gosselin replaces Joanna Backman, who moved to Farmington.
He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington and has worked for WorldWide Language Resources Inc. in Rumford since 2002.
At WorldWide, he served as director of human resources and director of security and then as education development manager and business development representative. Before that, he worked at CMCC as resident director and assistant athletic director as well as interim director of admissions.
Gosselin has also been a member of the business administration and management faculty at the college. His experience includes marketing, distance education programming, staff development and federal agency relations.
Gosselin will be responsible for both credit and non-credit academic activities at the center. He will also manage off-campus training for area business and industry as part of the college’s Corporate and Community Services Division.
“I am really excited about the potential for growth at the Western Maine Center,” said Gosselin. “I especially look forward to working with a community that values higher education as a key to economic development.”
Gosselin may be reached at 743-9322, extension 204, or 888-677-3377.
