POLAND – The wedding of Shannon Lee Martin and Jeffrey Crumm H. Hamilton Jr. was held at 11 a.m. on July 10 at All Souls Chapel.

Mrs. Hamilton is the daughter of Duane and Barbara Martin of Poland. Mr. Hamilton is the son of Jeffrey and Joyce Hamilton Sr. of New Gloucester.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory gown, off-the-shoulders with Cathedral train and beads on the bodice and skirt. She carried a cascade of lavender roses with purple daisies, baby’s breath and assorted flowers.

Leila Amundsen, friend of the bride, attended as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Shea Strout and Tracy Barnies, friends of the bride, Becky Hamilton, sister of the bridegroom, Katrina Martin, sister-in-law of the bride, and Janna Gowans, cousin of the bride. Layne Thompson, daughter of the bridegroom’s friend, was the flower girl.

Norm Lunn performed the duties of best man for his friend and ushers were Dan Anderson, Chad Drouin and Kevin Waterman, friends of the bridegroom, and Scott and Keith Martin, brothers of the bride. Xander Thompson, son of the bridegroom’s friend, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at the Poland Spring Inn in Poland, after which the couple traveled on a seven-day southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Destiny. They are residing in New Gloucester.

The bride is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Maine at Farmington, studying secondary education and area science. She plans to graduate in May. She plans to start student teaching in January at Poland Regional High School to finish her degree program.

The bridegroom graduated in 1997 from Gray-New Gloucester High School and received an associate degree in fire science technology from Southern Maine Community College. He is currently employed at Sears in South Portland as a home improvement lead.
