TOPSHAM – Flying Changes Center for Therapeutic Riding of Topsham announces the addition of two health care professionals to the staff.

Julie Steen of Bowdoinham is a practicing occupational therapist at St. Andrews and MidCoast Hospitals. She offers occupational therapy services with a focus on sensory processing needs at Flying Changes.

Equine facilitated occupational therapy is known in the therapeutic riding industry as the specialty, “hippotherapy.”

Steen plans to become certified as a therapeutic riding instructor with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Assoc.

The center has also added a licensed clinical social worker, Barbara Dubin, of Cornish. Dubin provides counseling services for Crisis Response Services of Biddeford, and she is offering equine facilitated mental health services on Monday afternoons at Flying Changes Center. She achieved her therapeutic riding instructor certification in 2002.
