ORONO – Lucious Jordan scored a game-high 19 points to lead Albany to a 58-49 win over Maine on Sunday in America East.
The teams played to a 28-28 first half stalemate and went back and forth for much of the second half. Albany (8-7, 4-2) then took control around the 10-minute mark, thanks to Jordan and Jamar Wilson, who tallied 12 of his 18 points from the free throw line.
Ernest Turner and Joe Campbell each scored 13 points to lead Maine (8-7, 3-3), which scored its second lowest point total of the season on 35 percent field goal shooting and only 28 percent in the second half.
The Great Danes actually shot worse from the field (33 percent) but made up the difference at the free throw line by sinking 21 of 25.
