This is to wish Kalle Oakes a welcome back to the sports department of the Sun Journal. His efforts to try something new in his journalism are to be congratulated and were not at all in vain.
Yet, as a sports fanatic myself, I can truly relate to the inner drive and craving to be involved daily in the world of athletics. Combining that with Mr. Oakes’ writing ability and his many years of being connected to local sporting events, it provides him with a wonderful vehicle to give us top-notch sports coverage in our daily paper.
As one who is often found clicking on Sports Center in the middle of the night to check scores or calling a friend who coaches or officiates to check on the outcome of an event, I am particularly delighted with his return.
Job well done, Mr. Oakes. Good to have you back.
