BUCKFIELD – Wells Wood Turning and Finishing Inc. recently marked 12 years without an employee’s being injured on the job and losing a day of work.

The employees achieved this record on Dec. 24 by adhering to the philosophy of safe, quality production through teamwork. Everyone at the mill actively participates in the safety program, and the company sponsors wellness programs such as cholesterol screening and stretching exercises during the work day.

“We are very proud of the employees’ accomplishments in safety. This is an outstanding record and we all look forward to achieving 13 years without a lost-time accident,” said Tom Wallace, president. The company has weekly safety drawings and gives time off to all employees as long as the safety goals are met. This year’s annual grand prize was a Caribbean cruise for a lucky employee.
