LEWISTON – Charles Simones, 89, of 74 Lake Auburn Ave., Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, at d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was the son of John and Innocencia Lothano Simones.

He was educated in local schools, and was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS.

He loved fishing at Sebago and Moosehead Lakes.

He is survived by two sons, David Simones of Middleboro, Mass., and John and wife, Joan, of Middleboro, Mass.; one daughter, Stephanie and husband, Dan Johnson, of Georgia; two granddaughters, Kimberly and husband, Christopher Tibbetts, of Massachusetts, and Stacey and husband, Paul Taylor, of Georgia; and two great-grandsons, Justin and Roy Nunley of Georgia.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Germaine Bolduc.
