God bless Cal Thomas for his writing, “Debating God about suffering” (Jan. 13) and believers throughout the world who know the answer to the question “Does God exist?”

The fact that we breathe, talk and eat is evidence of God’s existence but it goes beyond that. We know and are aware of all the catastrophes that surround us: wars, earthquakes, disease, and there is more to come. Much more. Ever hear of the word “discipline?”

God certainly does allow “bad” things to happen, but as Mr. Thomas points out, what about all the “good” things that occur?

God is good. Crime, hate and such are daily occurrences, but as a believer, I know God exists despite all the turmoil.

I would use one word to describe God. What is that word? Love.

Here’s one more word: Jesus.
