WEST PARIS – Garfield J. Judkins, 94, of Norway, died Sunday afternoon, Jan. 16, at Ledgeview Living Center.

He was born in Mechanic Falls, Nov. 12, 1910, the son of T.J. and Katrina Johnson Judkins. He attended school in the Rangeley and Norway area.

He worked in the shipyard in South Portland, at B.E. Cole Shoe Shop in Norway and he retired from Wilner Wood Products.

He was a parishioner at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway. He had been a volunteer at Market Square Health Care Center for five years. He took great pride in always having a nice car and keeping it in showroom condition. While at Ledgeview the nurses affectionately called him “grandpa.”

On July 4, 1959, he married Antoinette Labbe and she passed away April 18, 1994.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Richard Wade of South Paris; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Garfield and Anne Judkins Jr. of Cocomo, Ind.; a stepdaughter-in-law, Cynthia Arsenault of Portland; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a stepson, Robert Arsenault and a half brother, Wallace.
