LEWISTON – Maurice Laliberte, 89, of Intown Manor, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

Born in Chartierville, PQ., Canada, July 18, 1915, a son of Adelard and Rose Martel Laliberte, he was educated in Canadian schools.

He was married to Angele Lamoureux who died in December of 1969.

He later married the former Priscilla B. Lavertu on March 3, 1972. She died Dec. 3, 2000.

He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish and worked at Bates Mfg. Co. Hill Division.

He enjoyed taking trips to Canada and being with family and friends.

He is survived by four sons and spouses, Jacques and Diane Laliberte of Leeds, Michel and Camille Laliberte of Lewiston, Marcel and Bea Laliberte of Vermont, Jean Laliberte of Greene; a stepson, Richard and his wife, Irene Lavertu, of Auburn; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
