PARIS – Brenda Birney will be the soloist and Shirley S. Miller will lead the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, Jan. 23, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris. The sermon will present challenging thoughts on communication in the technological world.

The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist. Renee Wales will direct the Sunday school and child care will be provided.

The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Raffle under way

FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Academy Project Graduation is selling a limited number of tickets for a one-week time-share. The donation came from Attitash Mountain Village in Bartlett, N.H.

Only 200 tickets will be sold for a donation of $20 each. Those interested may purchase tickets from parents involved with the Project Graduation 2005 Program at Fryeburg Academy. If all 200 tickets are sold, the winner will be announced at the annual silent auction at the Gibson Gym on April 2.

Bingo set

GREENWOOD – Longerberger Basket Bingo will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, at the Locke Mills Legion Hall, Gore Road. Doors will open at 11 a.m. There will be lunch items available as well as a bake sale, quilt raffle and door prizes.

The cost is $10 for 16 games. All proceeds will go to the Woodstock Elementary fifth-grade educational trip to Boston. For more information, call Sondra Farnum at 665-2591 or Missy Wakefield at 665-2211.
