It really steams me when people insult my breed of dog as I own three Rottweilers. To have people say that all these dogs should be killed is simply wrong.

The first 21 weeks of any dog’s life are the foundation for the rest of it. If the canine is brought up in those first weeks with love, socialization, respect and training, then the owner will have a solid, steady, loving animal. If not, the person will have the ones that the police are called about.

Blame the owners, not the breed.

I do rescue work and have seen many things done to dogs that I would not do to my worst enemy. How should these dogs react after a human has beaten, starved and neglected them?

That is why so many Rottweilers are put down each year.

Statistically, smaller dog bites outnumber large-breed bites. It is simply that no one reports small-breed bites so it looks as if only the large breeds are biting.

I have had it with the prejudices against Rottweilers.

My dog is branded a killer for no other reason than the name of her breed.

Thank God my family adores her, and that includes my 94-year-old great-aunt whom she worships when we visit her. My dog roams the nursing home halls giving everyone kisses.

My dog has no prejudices against people, so why do they have them against her?
