LEWISTON – Violet M. Bisson, 83, died at d’Youville Pavilion Saturday, Jan. 22, following a long illness, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on May 10, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Anne Carrier Roy.

She worked as a shoe worker in the local shoe industry. Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Roundhouse Motor Inn in Auburn.

The love of her life was her family. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends at her home, and the sharing of anything she had. At Christmas time, anyone visiting would not leave without a gift from her Christmas tree. She enjoyed doing crafts and taking day excursions with her sisters.

In April of 1941, she married Leo N. Bisson.

She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Webster and her friend, Emile Jones, of both Florida and Greene, and Jeannine Craw and her husband, Jesse, of Florida; three sons, Paul Bisson and his wife, Brenda, of Auburn, Lee Bisson and his wife, Marlene, of Florida, and Dave Bisson and his wife, Linda, of Mexico; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Cecile Forgues and her husband, Fern, of Lewiston; and two brothers, Robert Roy and his wife, Marie, of Massachusetts, and Raymond Roy and his wife, Renee, of Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, who died in 1988; two sisters, Armande and Anne; and a brother, Roland.
