AUBURN – Ida Emery, 92, and a longtime resident of Auburn, died Thursday evening, Jan. 20, at Clover Manor with her family at her side.

She was born in Augusta, July 23, 1912, a daughter of Alfred and Eva Pepin. She was educated in Augusta schools and was a lifelong resident of the Lewiston-Auburn area.

She was first married to Arthur E. Lemieux, who passed away in December of 1966, and later married Eugene Emery, who passed away in 1975.

She worked her whole life in various shoe shops until her retirement.

She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church and in her free time she enjoyed cooking and quilting, as she also made many blankets for family over the years.

She leaves six grandchildren, Arthur R. Lemieux Jr. of Lewiston, Michael B. Lemieux of Jacksonville, Fla., Ramona Richardson also of Jacksonville, Fla., Toni M. Lemieux of Augusta, Marilyn Oden and husband, Vincent, of Biddeford, and Steven S. Lemieux and wife, Dianna, of Auburn; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Dufour of Auburn.

She was predeceased by a son, Arthur R. Lemieux Sr., in 1992; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Lemieux in 1982; and a granddaughter, Brenda Lemieux, in 2003.
