FARMINGTON – Titcomb Mountain will host Ski Maine’s Tin Roundup Sunday, Jan. 23, to benefit the Farmington area food pantry.

Anyone who brings in three cans or a packaged food donation will receive a $5 discount on any full-day lift ticket. Nordic day ticket prices are reduced from $9 to $5 with a donation. Season pass holders are also welcome to drop off can donations.

Titcomb Mountain will also offering a special rate on its Learn to Ski/Ride package of $20 instead of the normal $25. With any three items of food, anyone 10 years or older, can get a Learn to Ski/Ride one hour group clinic, beginner trail access day ticket and rentals. Group Learn to Ski/Ride clinics will only be available at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday. Private lessons at $15 per hour are also available.

Private snowboarding lessons are available for anyone 8 years or older. People are asked to phone 24 hours in advance to reserve either private or group lessons and rentals since space is limited.

Alpine adult racing league is back from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. The next race is slalom on Jan. 26. Teams may be up to eight people. For information phone 778-9031 for more information.

Children’s weekly programs at the slope have started and all report full participation. The Bill Koch Nordic skiing program is having a distance challenge called, “Kids, Cookies and Kilometers” on Sunday, Jan. 30. Registration is from 10 to 11 a.m. for this event.
