JAY – Police are investigating the theft of a snowmobile valued at $7,000 from the Spruce Mountain ski area.
A yellow Ski-Doo Scandic 500 CC was reported stolen Sunday from the Spruce Mountain area, Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.
The snow machine is a two-seater with a crack in the windshield, and it has a rack on the back, White said.
In other police matters, a woman has been charged with acquiring drugs by deception, and police are looking into the illegal use of a credit card.
Jay Detective Rod Small issued a summons to Karen Cutchin, 30, of Jay on a charge of acquiring drugs by deception, White said. Cutchin allegedly falsified a prescription for hydrocodone, a pain killer, White said. She is scheduled to appear March 25 at 12th District Court in Farmington, he said.
An East Jay resident reported Friday that someone had used a credit card to charge more than $700, White said. That case is still under investigation, he said.
