NORWAY – The Oxford County Democrats will meet beginning with a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Norway Town Office. Those attending should bring a hot dish, salad or dessert.

The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with Sam Spencer of Portland, a member of the Democratic National Committee, as speaker on the topic of the February election of the new chairman of the Democratic Party. Other business items include election of chairman, vice chairman, treasurer and secretary of the Oxford County Democratic Committee, plus adoption of bylaws. There will be reports from the Maine Democratic Party and the State Committee representatives from Oxford County, from legislators, local committees, and planning for the coming year.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in the election of Democrats; however voting will be restricted to members of the Oxford County Democratic Committee, who were elected at the 2004 caucuses, or at subsequent municipal committee meetings.
