PARIS – Paris Town Manager Sharon Jackson is negotiating changes in job descriptions and salaries for town employees.
Jackson has been busy evaluating everything from the town’s road conditions to computer software since she started in her post Jan. 3. During an executive session on Monday, she said, she talked with the Paris Board of Selectmen about her intention to start looking at the duties of town employees. Restructuring some job descriptions could help improve efficiency and provide more checks and balances within town government, she said.
“This doesn’t just involve one job,” Jackson said, “it involves all of them.”
Jackson would not go into more detail about Monday’s executive session because she said salary negotiations may come into play for some employees if their job duties are changed.
Jackson said she will complete a preliminary study, then make recommendations to selectmen before requesting any changes.
