MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Police were looking for the man who held up a Citizens Bank branch Wednesday.

Police said a man wearing a black, hooded coat and a gray and black woolen cap, gave a teller a note demanding cash at the branch in a Shop and Save store.

No weapon was shown.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A Marlboro woman has been fined and sentenced to probation after admitting she kept more than $25,000 in Social Security benefits mistakenly sent to her dead mother.

The U.S. Attorney’s office said Afton Rodriguez, 44, kept benefits that were mistakenly sent to her mother’s bank account for more than two years after her mother’s death.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A Bedford man has been convicted of federal charges of receiving of a stolen check and cashing it.

Authorities said Mohammad Enayat, 34, received a stolen check made out for $114,000 at his oriental rug business three years ago.

Prosecutors said the check had been made out by one California company to another and was sent to Enayat, who deposited it in his account and spent the money within two months.

Enayat could face up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when he is sentenced in April.

School evacuated because of leak

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) – Green Acres Elementary School was evacuated Wednesday following an oil leak.

Officials said more than 500 pupils were sent to nearby McLaughlin Middle School as firefighters tended to the leak in the school’s boiler.

Classes were canceled for the day.
