LEWISTON – Ray Teixeira, branch manager and assistant vice president of UnitedKingfield Bank, recently presented a check for $2,500 to Josh Nagine, co-chairman of Skate Lewiston-Auburn Movement skatepark initiative.

SLAM is a group of local parents and youth who want to build a public skate park in Lewiston/Auburn. The group recently launched a $400,000 capital campaign to raise the necessary money to build and maintain a 15,000-square-foot skatepark.

UnitedKingfield Bank, with a branch location on Canal Street in Lewiston, has a long history of providing financial support to organizations involving youth programs.

“We are pleased to offer our assistance to such a worthwhile program,” said Teixeira. “A recreational facility for kids to roller blade, skate and scooter is long overdue in this community. Kingfield Bank applauds the efforts of the many volunteers who are making this skate park become a reality.”

Anyone wishing to get involved with SLAM should call Josh Nagine at 240-2779.
