LISBON – Gabrielle Mathieu scored nine points to lead Lisbon to its first victory of the season, a 30-26 overtime decision over Carrabec.
The Greyhounds trailed 8-2, 12-10 and 20-19 at the quarter breaks before tying the game to send it into overtime. Soleil Mathieu chipped in with seven points.
The Cobras (0-14) started the game with an 8-0 run. Carrabec was led by Christina Earle who scored seven points.
Mt. Blue 63, Lawrence 29
FARMINGTON – Christina Moser lit up the scoreboard with a game-high 23 points and hauled down 10 rebounds Thursday to lead Mt. Blue to a 63-29 romp over Lawrence in a KVAC girls’ basketball matchup.
Mt. Blue held a sizable 30-14 advantage at the break and cruised to an easy victory in the second half.
Amy Mansir chipped in for the Cougars (10-1) with 13 points, while Bonnie Silkman added nine.
Holly Noyes and Brogan Liberty led the Bulldogs (3-7) with six points apiece, while Megan Gilbert added five.
Pine Tree 27, Hebron 17
HEBRON – Rachel Houfman scored 12 points to lift Pine Tree (7-6) to a 27-17 triumph over winless Hebron.
Madison Campbell scored seven points to lead Hebron (0-9).
Boothbay 54, Jay 43
BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Elexa Morrison netted a team-high 17 points along with two 3-pointers to lead Boothbay to a 54-43 win against Jay.
Nichole Williams also added 14 points for the Seahawks (9-5). Kaylee DeMillo scored a game-high 25 points for Jay.
Gould 35, Hyde 33
BETHEL – Suzi Jump drained 14 points, including the game-winning field goal with less than a minute left in the game, to give Gould a 35-33 comeback victory over Hyde.
Gould’s Carley Rudd had tied the game with a pair of free throws. Gould (9-3) scored 19 points in the fourth quarter after being shut out in the third.
Hyde’s Shaniqua James led all scorers with 25 points.
Gardiner 53, Leavitt 45 (OT)
TURNER – Hayley Spears led an 11-point overtime effort by Gardiner on Thursday as the Tigers edged out Leavitt 53-45 in a KVAC girls’ basketball matchup.
Spears tallied 13 points to lead the Bulldogs (4-5), while Lynsey Seymour chipped in with 12 and Brayliegh Cook added 11.
Stephanie Healy led the Hornets (2-9) with 11 points, while Ashley Naylor contributed with 10. Gardiner held a 24-16 lead at the half, but Leavitt rallied back with a 12-4 run in the third quarter. The difference here was a 11-3 OT performance which sealed the win.
Edward Little 57, Medomak Valley 48
WALDOBORO – Edward Little began pulling away with a 20-point third quarter and defeated Medomak Valley 57-48 in girls’ basketball action.
Kelsey Nicolas had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Red Eddies (2-8), while Britney French scored 15 points and grabbed 12 boards. Kate Dargie added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Alli Ludwig led the Panthers (2-0) with 14 points.
