LEWISTON – Oliver M. Randall, 80, of 24 Amberley Way, Auburn, died Friday, Jan. 28, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by the love of his wife, family and friends.
He was born in Bath, Feb. 26, 1924, the son of Ezra R. and Della Merrill Randall.
He was educated in local schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1941, and the University of Maine at Orono in 1950.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was married to Mary Marshall on May 15, 1971.
He was the owner and operator of Lewiston Welding Supply Co. and the Waterville Welding Supply Co.
He was a member of High Street Congregational Church, serving on the Diaconate and on the Administration and Finance Board. He was an associate member of The Great Outdoors Church in Titusville, Fla. He was also a member of the Auburn Exchange Club for more than 50 years and had served as its treasurer, also the Kora Shrine and Tranquil Lodge AF & AM.
He enjoyed photography, bowling and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Randall of Auburn; a daughter, Deborah Randall-Darby and husband, Donald, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a son, William R. Randall of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michelle Cram and Denver of Augusta, Jonathan and Christine Randall, Alec, Gabrielle and Carter, all of Turner, Timothy and Jennifer Porter and Patrick, Marissa and Christopher of Hanscom, A.F.B., Massachusetts, Dawn Randall and Benjamin and Tyler of Zephyrhills, Fla., Wendi Randall of Plantation, Fla.; an adopted grandson, Jeffrey Baril of Sabattus; and a foster grandson, Nathan Haines of Tampa, Fla.
He was predeceased by a son, Gregory A. Randall, in January 1994.
