There is one aspect of the letter from Nancy Willard (Jan. 23) that I must take issue with. In the first paragraph of her letter, she accuses Christians of being “holier than thou” and “superior beings.” Such an accusation shows a lack of understanding or knowledge of what a Christian truly is. To me, knowing why I am a Christian, makes the accusation oxymoronic. I am a sinner just like everybody else, and any righteousness I possess has been given to me by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I simply possess no righteousness of my own.
