WINTHROP – Richard A. Urquhart, 82, of Winthrop, died Jan. 29, after a long illness.

He was born in Milton, Mass., on Nov. 6, 1922, the son of Arthur S. and Gertrude (Dowell) Urquhart.

A summer resident of Winthrop and Readfield, since early childhood, he moved to Winthrop year-round in 1966.

He retired from the Maine Department of Transportation as a highway training officer in 1985.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Constance (Marsh) Urquhart, of Winthrop; two daughters, Susan Urquhart of Ashfield, Mass., and Bonnie U. Hatchell and husband, Motte A. Hatchell, of Readfield.
