MEXICO – Two men will run for the Board of Selectmen seat vacated by former Selectman Monique Aniel.

A special election has been set for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, at the Calvin Lyons Hall of the town office.

George Byam, a local bus driver and resident of Swett Avenue, will square off against James McDonald, a former selectmen and resident of Monroe Street.

Aniel resigned her position late last year because of differences over how the board was handling an apparent financial deficit. The winner of the special election will serve until June 2007.
