LEWISTON – Arianne P. LaPlante, 89, formerly of Old Greene Road, died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 5, at Montello Manor with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston March 26, 1915, a daughter of Rodolphe and Roberta Ouellette Parent. She was educated in Lewiston schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On Aug. 24, 1935, she married Roland N. LaPlante.

She worked many years in local textile and shoe shops, including 18 years at Bates Manufacturing and several years at Lown Shoe, until her retirement in 1973.

She was a member of Holy Family Church, Ladies of St. Ann Sodality, Robin Dow and the Lewiston Senior Citizens, where she served for a time as secretary.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading and traveling.

She is survived by a daughter, Constance Burke and her husband, Roger, of Lewiston; two sons, Richard R. LaPlante of Cherry Plain, N.Y., and Marc M. LaPlante and his wife, Cathy, of Minot; five grandchildren, Stephanie Burke, Michael Burke, Jessica LaPlante, Lauren LaPlante, and Anna LaPlante; two sisters, Juhette Richard and Muriel Landry, both of Lewiston; and a brother, Omer Parent of Florida.

She was predeceased by a brother, Marcel Parent.
