BUCKFIELD – Velma I. Ellingwood, 90, of Buckfield, died Thursday, Feb. 3.

She was born in Canton on Jan. 27, 1915, the daughter of Harrison and Mary Darrington Bragg. She was educated in Hartford and Buckfield schools.

She was a homemaker most of her life, and had lived in Buckfield most of her life.

She married Guy W. Ellingwood on June 28, 1930. He died on Jan. 26, 1986.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Oliver (Ruth) Frechette of Buckfield, and Mrs. Rodney (Elizabeth) Payne of South Paris; one brother, Thomas Bragg, of East Sumner; one sister, Doris Buchanan of Auburn; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, and one brother, Charles Bragg.
