LISBON FALLS – Nancy Bard, 67, of 407 Main St., Lisbon Falls, died Saturday morning, Feb. 5, at her home following a courageous five-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born in Richmond, on March 8, 1937, daughter of Charles and Josephine (Temple) Wallentine. She was educated in Brunswick schools, graduated from Brunswick High School in 1954, and attended the University of Maine at Orono.

On Aug. 25, 1956, she married Ralph Bard. In 1994, she graduated from the Cannon Financial Institute as a Certified Corporate Trust Specialist. She started her career in banking in the early 1960’s with Maine National Bank, which later became Connecticut Bank and Trust, and then Fleet Bank. She also spent several years at People’s Heritage Bank, until her retirement in April of 2001. She was a member of the Bowdoinham Baptist Church, and served as Treasurer of Lisbon Friends of Music and also as Treasurer of the Bowdoin Flurry Flyers Snowmobile Club.

She leaves her husband of 48 years, Ralph Bard of Lisbon Falls; a daughter, Victoria Bard of Boulder, Colo.; a son, Stephen Bard and wife, Tammy, of Lisbon Falls; four grandchildren, Anthony and Phoenix Zhang of Boulder, Colo., and Tyler and Alesha Bard of Lisbon Falls; and three sisters, Norma Talbot and husband, Rodney, of Topsham, Aldona Sekarski and husband, Joe, of St. Louis, Mo., and Louise Thorne and husband, Walter, of Kirkwood, Mo.
