LEWISTON – Theresa I. Prevost of Crescent Ave, Rumford, died peacefully Feb. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a brief illness.

She was born in St. Gedeon, Canada, a daughter of Cyrille and Grace (Tanguay) Bellegarde. She was educated in Rumford Schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School.

She was employed for many years as a dental assistant for Dr. Shee. She was also a sales associate for D.R.’s and Duntons Dress Shop, and Bartash Pharmacy.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Catholic Church. She loved people, and will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, happiness, and passion for life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Al Prevost; a son, Mark E. and wife, Lisa, of Lewiston; two sisters, Georgette Holmquist and husband, Clifford, of Mexico, and Mary Jane Gauvin of Springfield, Mass.; seven brothers, Eugene Bellegarde and wife, Barbara, of West Paris, Conrad and his wife, Lois, of Mexico, Roland and wife, Mary Ann, of South Rumford, Lionel and wife, Gloria, of Virginia, Fern and wife, Ann, of Rumford, Reginald and wife, Carol, of Rumford, and Noel “Pete” Bellegard of Rumford; one grandson, Paul R. Cote Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Frances Gallant; and a brother, Norman Bellegarde.
