NORWAY – Annie Marion Parsons, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 6, at her residence on Greenleaf Avenue.

She was born in Upton, on Aug. 14, 1924, the daughter of Martin and Addie (Vail) Colby and graduated from Gould Academy in Bethel, Class of 1942.

She had been employed at the Rumford School Department as a cook for several years, until her retirement. She was very active, and a leader with the 4-H Club, a member of the Rumford Garden Club, and a member of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Group.

She was married in Rumford on July 11, 1943, to Frank J. “Mike” Parsons, who died in Rumford Point on July 12, 1988.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Record and husband, Sidney, of South Paris, and Jane Parsons of Oakland; a son, Michael Parsons and wife, Rene, of Rumford; grandchildren, Maureen Donovan and husband, Rick, of South Paris, Rebecca Morin and husband, Jeremy, of Gilead, Martin Record and wife, Victoria, of South Paris, Rachel Record and her fianc, Wallace Giggey, of South Paris, Robert Parsons of Oakland, and Robyn and Frank Parsons of Rumford; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Colbie Lyn Donovan of South Paris, Jacquelyn Coffin, Keith and Ray Anne Morin of Gilead, Bri Hany Stanhope, and Tazz Lavoie of South Paris, and Cheyenne Giggey of South Paris; two brothers, Robert Colby and wife, Rita, of Rumford Point, and Widd Colby and wife, Joan, of Florida; and a very special friend, Rose Starbird of South Paris.

She was predeceased by a brother, Wirt Colby.
