LEWISTON – Paul Philip Michaud, 70, of 103 School Road, Wales, died Monday at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Born in Squateck, P.Q., Canada, June 24, 1934, a son of Edward and Marie-Anne Albert Michaud he was educated in Canadian schools.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish and was self employed in the lumber cutting industry.

He always had a wonderful sense of humor and often loved to tease, joke with, and “kid around” with his wife, Fern, and also very much enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends.

Among his favorite enjoyments in his free time were woodworking and doing carpentry work around his home. Not only did he like to work around his house, but he was always willing to help others on projects at their homes. He was generous that way. In addition, he enjoyed home canning and maintaining a vegetable garden for many years with lots of cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes.

He is survived by his wife, the former Fernande A. Hamel, of Wales, whom he married Oct. 12, 1957; a daughter, Pauline D. Michaud and her fianc, Mark Ashton, of Lewiston; a son, Leo E. Michaud of Wales; three granddaughters, Clancy Rae Cornish, Jennifer and Tasha Michaud; a great-grandson, Gabriel Perry Michaud; five brothers and spouses, Andre and Diane, Joseph and Beverly, Henry and Ruth, Sam and Marie-Anne, and Maurice and Donna Michaud.

He was predeceased by a son, Normand Joseph Michaud, and a brother, Roger Michaud.
