OXFORD – Two American Red Cross blood drives will be held in Oxford during February.

The first drive will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at the Hosanna Church, 109 School St. It is being sponsored by the Hosanna Women’s Group. For more information or an appointment, call the Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743.

The Red Cross and Scout Brian Robinson will hold a blood drive from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 26, at the American Legion Post 112, 112 King St., Route 121 South. For more information or an appointment, call Brian at 998-3212 or the Red Cross at 1-800-482-0743.

All blood types are needed at this time. Most healthy adults can give blood through the Red Cross if they meet the basic eligibility requirements. They must be 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and in good health.

In most cases, donors may give blood if they are on medication, but should know the names of their medications.

Turkey Hollow to perform

BERLIN, N.H. – Turkey Hollow, featuring Denny Breau and Dave Rowe, will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Community Arts Center, 155 Emery St.

The performance will includes a mix of folk, bluegrass, country and blues with a relaxed and witty stage presence. The show is part of the Chamber of Commerce Winterfest celebration.

Tickets are $10 at the door. Students kindergarten through grade 12 are half price. For more information, call the Arts Center Office at 752-1028.

100th birthday open house

SUMNER – There will be a 100th birthday open house for Roger Brigham from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the Congregational Church of East Sumner. Refreshments will be served and the cake-cutting and the “Birthday Song” will be sung at 3.

Donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi or the Salvation Army in Brigham’s name. Anyone wanting more information can call Cynthia Norton at 388-2667.

West Paris woman celebrates 90 years

WEST PARIS – Margaret I. Walker celebrated her 90th birthday on Jan. 2 at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris. Walker had 16 children; four are now deceased. She has 50 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren and her cat, Fluffy. She loves to play cards and used to play bingo. Her husband, Gerald, died in 1975.
